Figma View Seat Pricing in 2026: What Viewers Get Free, and When You Need a Paid Seat

Short answer, as of October 2026: a Figma View seat is free. A viewer can open the files they have access to, leave comments, and use basic inspection: measurements, property values, copying CSS, iOS and Android code, and exporting assets. A viewer cannot edit Design files and does not get full Dev Mode. For full Dev Mode a person needs a paid Dev seat, which on the Professional plan costs $12 a month billed annually or $15 billed monthly. A correction. We rewrote this post on October 10, 2026. An earlier version said Figma charged $15 to $25 a month per person for view-only access, and built cost tables and a productivity estimate on that. It was wrong: viewing and commenting in Figma are free. We removed those sections and replaced every Figma figure below with one taken from Figma's own pages, with the date and a link.
Figma seat prices in October 2026
Figma has four seat types: Full, Dev, Collab and View. Prices are per seat, per month, as listed on figma.com/pricing on October 10, 2026.

Figma also has a free Starter plan with limited access. Organization and Enterprise are billed annually. According to Figma's billing guide, the seats cover:
- •Full: Figma Design, Dev Mode, FigJam, Figma Slides, Figma Make and Figma Draw
- •Dev: Dev Mode, FigJam and Figma Slides, plus view and comment access in Design files
- •Collab: FigJam and Figma Slides, with basic inspection in Dev Mode
- •View: view and comment access to all files, as a free seat
What a free Figma viewer can do
Figma's pricing FAQ says a free viewer can see measurements and property values, copy CSS, iOS and Android code, export assets, comment on files and use cursor chat. Its seat comparison table lists these for a View seat:

On a paid plan you can let people view and comment on your files without buying them a seat, and the pricing page lists unlimited viewers. So a viewer-only stakeholder, PM or client costs nothing in Figma.
Which seat does each person need?
- •Designers who edit Design files: a Full seat.
- •Developers who want full Dev Mode: a Dev seat. If basic inspection (measurements, values, copying code, exporting assets) is enough, a free View seat covers it.
- •People who work only in FigJam or Slides: a Collab seat.
- •PMs, stakeholders and clients who look and comment: a View seat, which is free.
One process detail matters for budgets: since March 11, 2025, by default any seat upgrade that adds cost has to be approved by an admin (Figma blog).
What changed in 2025
Figma announced a billing update on December 10, 2024. Starting March 11, 2025, existing plans moved to the Full, Dev, Collab and View seats, and the Full seat price increase took effect at each customer's first renewal on or after March 11, 2025. Example: a 15-person team on the Professional plan
Three designers, seven developers and five stakeholders, at the October 2026 list prices before tax:

If the developers can work with basic inspection, they can stay on View seats too, and the team pays only for the three Full seats: $48 a month billed annually or $60 billed monthly.
Where Yocoolab fits, and where it does not
If your developers and stakeholders only need to look at designs, comment on them and copy values, Figma's free View seat already does that. You do not need another tool to save on viewer seats, because there is nothing to save.
